the horses

“They are small and not very beautiful,” commented the second-century writer Claudius Aelianus of the Barb, then known as the Numidian horse. "But to their credit," he added, they were “extraordinarily fast and strong and withal so tame that they can be ridden without a bit or reins and can be guided simply by a cane.”

All horses are a mix of Berber and Arab, strong and gentle. Their height is about 1.40 mtr. ElHadh-Rafale and Angelo are full Barb. The nature of all the horses is spirited, we ride them with western bits wich require a calm hand. The horses are very easily ridden and listen perfectly to voice commands. Tornado is very elegant in his gallop, Rafale is very fast and both Angelo and Rafale can be real dancers. Tornado, Alex and Lasghar are Barb Arab horses. The english saddles are in perfect condition.

On special request we hire western saddles.

For all the circuits and long day treks we use halsters under the gridles with enough rope length, to easily fasten the horses to bushes during breaks.

During the evenings when it is hotsummer and during the day in wintertime the horses stay outside in a sandmeadow, surrounded by all year long green oases.
